Groves Learning Organization (GLO) is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to transforming the way our nation is taught—one student, one teacher, and one school at a time. Located in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, GLO includes Groves Academy, the Learning Center, and the Groves Literacy Partnership. Our mission is to build confidence, success, and purpose through transformative learning experiences. We are grounded in the values of Authenticity, Compassion, Collaboration, Discovery, and Tenacity.
We are seeking a doctoral-level psychology intern who is eager to gain rich experience across a wide range of psychological and educational services within a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment.
About the Internship Psycho-educational EvaluationsThe intern will conduct psycho educational evaluations under the supervision of licensed psychologists and nationally certified school psychologists. Our diagnostics team works with school-aged and college-age students, with a primary focus on learning and attention disorders, as well as anxiety, depression, and other social–emotional concerns.
- Administer, score, and interpret a wide range of cognitive, academic, social–emotional, executive functioning, personality, neuropsychological, and language assessments
- Conduct clinical interviews
- Provide feedback to clients and families
- Work with both community clients and Groves Academy students
- Participate in weekly group consultation sessions and monthly department meetings.
Groves Academy is the Midwest’s leading school for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and executive functioning challenges. The intern may engage with our school community through:
- Consultation with teachers
- Academic and social–emotional intervention planning
- Implementation of behavioral and social–emotional interventions
Based on intern interests and goals, additional experiences may include:
- Program-level data analysis for school improvement initiatives.
- Participation in research related to learning and executive functioning disorders.
- Collaboration with professionals across disciplines—including speech-language pathologists, tutors, and psychologists.
We follow a developmental model of supervision, providing intensive support at the beginning of the year and progressively increasing intern autonomy. Interns work closely with multiple members of our diagnostic and student support teams.
This is a hybrid internship with both in-person responsibilities at our St. Louis Park campus and partner schools across the Twin Cities, as well as remote work via videoconferencing.
Postdoctoral opportunities may be available upon completion of the internship.
