a position has been declared open in the weber school district as an online k-12 teaching and learning facilitator. This position is for 8.00 hours per day, 182 days (9 months) per year (plus a 21-day additional contract). Compensation commensurates with the educator salary schedule, along with benefits. The compensation package includes a 9% stipend for extra responsibilities and a $3,000 stipend for district office hours.

k-12 online teaching and learning facilitator works with the k-12 online principal to lead and support weber school district’s virtual learning environments, including weber online k-6, weber online 7-12, and innovation online (soep). This role is focused on improving student learning outcomes by leveraging data, research, and high-quality virtual instruction. It involves working directly with teachers, students, and families, as well as marketing the programs.
keyresponsibilities weber online k-6 (elementary)
- conduct virtual drop-ins to live online k-6 classes to ensure high-quality pedagogy and review course content.
- aide in the creation of the school tssa and trustlands plans, and assist the school administrator in attending meetings with the community council.
- address parent concerns via email and in person; interact with students during in-person support and activities.
- track online attendance, oversee required in-person testing, and manage the system for virtual parent/teacher conferences.
- serve as the main contact for the school counselor and registrar; calendar all school events and communicate via wsd channels.
- oversee in-person activities and field trips.
- oversee the creation and continual improvement of new coursework aligned with the new weber online vision for flexibility in pace and place while still delivering accessible, high-rigor learning experiences.
- track online course completion. Manage intervention plans, tier 2 support, and "f" notifications for grades 7-12.
- perform frequent reviews of course content, pedagogy, and grading practices.
- work with student services to help counselors understand weber online and identify students who may benefit.
- oversee in-person events, including graduation and in-person support.
- manage all soep (statewide online education program) requirements and enrollment processes.
- oversee the quality of soep courses and ensure teacher engagement and consistent grading practices.
- aid the principal in establishing the purpose and vision of innovation online.
- analyze student performance data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for success to inform curriculum adjustments.
- plan and attend plcs ; design and provide targeted training to ensure the implementation of evidence-informed materials.
- model best instructional practices and provide side-by-side coaching or classroom demonstrations for staff.
- maintain effective communication with external vendors to ensure the quality of instructional resources and contract maintenance.
- adhere to established schedules, meet timelines effectively, and demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
- ensure alignment with organizational objectives in resource allocation and oversee district-approved materials.
- oversee the school websites, live feeds, and social media efforts.
- lead efforts to increase enrollment from outside of the school district and identify in-district students who do not attend weber school district schools, who may benefit from the online schools.
- identify wsd students enrolled in soep courses. Use this data to work with counselors to identify needs that are not being met by wic and wol and address these needs.
- foster a positive, productive relationship with all stakeholders that allows for effective collaboration.
- maintain effective communication with external vendors and program providers to ensure the availability and quality of instructional resources.
- comprehend and adhere to oral and written instructions.
- adhere to established schedules and meet timelines effectively.
- demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
- participate in district committees as appropriate.
- attend mandatory department and district meetings and events.

- valid utah teaching license with a minimum of five years of teaching or training experience.
