Overview
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic and highly organised Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team in this exciting new full-time role. This unique position incorporates approximately 0.6 FTE teaching responsibility, covering full classes across Key Stage 2 (predominantly UKS2) to provide high‑quality PPA time, with 0.4 FTE dedicated to lead and develop our school library and deliver targeted reading interventions.
Responsibilities- Play a key role in creating an attractive, welcoming and well‑organised library environment, promoting a wide range of authors, genres and texts, and inspiring children to develop a genuine love of reading.
- Help ensure the library becomes a valued and well‑used space that supports both reading for pleasure and pupil progress.
- Provide 0.6 FTE teaching responsibility, covering full classes across Key Stage 2 (predominantly UKS2) to provide high‑quality PPA time.
- Dedicate 0.4 FTE to lead and develop our school library and deliver targeted reading interventions.
- Experienced HLTA or a qualified teacher seeking a rewarding position focused on teaching and reading development.
- Passion for education and reading, commitment to high standards, and ability to teach and support children from diverse backgrounds.
- Creativity, proactivity and ability to inspire pupils through high‑quality teaching and the development of a vibrant reading culture.
- Subject to a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check.
