The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Preventive and Therapeutic Sciences invites applications for a term Assistant or Associate Professor of Dietetics and Nutrition, a full-time, 9‑month faculty position with competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. The Assistant/Associate Professor of Dietetics and Nutrition is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence‑based instruction across the Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) programs.
This role requires an interdisciplinary approach to healthcare education, bridging foundational nutritional science for undergraduate students with advanced clinical applications for graduate students.
The position requires the candidate to be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with experience in clinical nutrition, ambulatory care, or a closely related area. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ recent experience working as an RDN and have the knowledge of contemporary curricular content for the teaching of Dietetics & Nutrition.
Candidates are expected to have teaching (or teaching-related) experience in college-level Dietetics and Nutrition or a related field, including online modalities.
Preferred Qualifications- Acute and/or ambulatory clinical nutrition
- Online course and curriculum development
- Program accreditation
- Nutrition research
- Masters in Dietetics & Nutrition, or related field
- PhD, EdD, or DCN preferred
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and obtain licensure in the state of Alaska upon hire
- Work experience in clinical nutrition, ambulatory care, or closely related area is required
This is a term‑funded, union‑represented, 9‑month per year faculty position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
