Working from their home office in Idaho, the Secondary Social Studies Teacher will utilize the Pearson Online Classroom to support and motivate students in grades 6‑12. The teacher will deliver synchronous instruction, provide intervention and enrichment, and use data to diagnose student learning needs. Virtual instruction requires proactive communication, consistent availability, flexibility, and strong time management.
Position Responsibilities- Deliver live synchronous instruction during the school day (8 – 4 MST) in whole‑group, small‑group, and one‑to‑one settings.
- Monitor student engagement and ensure adherence to virtual classroom expectations.
- Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences within prescribed timelines.
- Implement equitable practices, holding high expectations and providing individualized support.
- Use the RTI/MTSS framework to provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction and collaborate on Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
- Provide targeted intervention and enrichment based on academic and engagement data.
- Sponsor alternate instructional strategies and assist with daily assignments and projects.
- Maintain documentation of attendance, interventions, communications, and instructional decisions.
- Regularly communicate with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.
- Collaborate daily with colleagues through virtual and in‑person meetings to support student success.
- Consult staff to develop enrichment activities, accommodations, and instructional modifications.
- Assist School Counselors in ensuring progress and goal attainment.
- Continuously monitor student data and make impactful instructional decisions.
- Manage a Homeroom class, monitor attendance, progress, and engagement, and complete required calls.
- Travel for marketing events, field trips, and state testing; occasionally support families during evenings.
- Proctor state testing in a physical location under supervision.
- Attend required professional development and pursue ongoing growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Position is for the 2026‑27 school year, starting August 4 2026.
- Highly qualified and certified to teach Secondary Social Studies in Idaho with a valid #7200 Social Studies (6‑12) credential.
- Resident of Idaho.
- Strong technology skills, especially Google Workspace, Zoom, and Windows OS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze data, design intervention plans, and track student progress.
- High flexibility, collaboration, and independent remote work management.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing events, field trips, and state testing (may include overnight).
- Ability to work occasional evenings to support families.
- Private workspace free from distraction, high‑speed internet, and childcare arrangements for dependents during work hours.
