If you enjoy mentoring faculty while still staying connected to the classroom, this position offers the best of both worlds. You’ll maintain a teaching load while leading departmental operations, collaborating with school leadership, and supporting initiatives that move the college forward.
This 11-month, full-time faculty leadership role reports to the Assistant Dean of Agricultural Sciences and provides the opportunity to influence curriculum, foster innovation, and build a strong, collaborative academic culture.

Responsibilities:Foster a High-Performing and Engaged Faculty Team
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty
- Conduct teaching observations and provide meaningful performance feedback
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts
- Facilitate regular department meetings and promote transparent communication
- Support professional growth and performance management in a timely manner
- Maintain a teaching load and model instructional excellence
- Oversee curriculum design, implementation, assessment, and scheduling
- Resolve student inquiries and instructional concerns
- Approve or deny academic requirement exceptions
- Support Dual Credit programming and academic initiatives
- Direct course scheduling and faculty assignments in collaboration with leadership
- Maintain accurate departmental records and compliance documentation
- Review and recommend special course fee adjustments
- Monitor facilities and resource needs
- Contribute actively to the School Leadership Team
- Uphold and model CWI’s values in all actions and decisions
- Collaborate with campus partners to support institutional priorities
- Help drive innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Master’s degree in related discipline
- Five years of teaching demonstrated excellence in a variety of courses at the secondary and/or post-secondary level
- Two years of leadership or supervisory experience. Leadership and supervisory experience in a post-secondary institution preferred
- Experience in curriculum design, scheduling course, implementation, and oversight
- Significant knowledge of or experience in a community college setting preferred
- Experience developing and monitoring budgets preferred
