Assistant Professor of Instruction, Social Work (remote)
The Department of Social Work at Ohio University invites applications for a nine-month Assistant Professor of Instruction (non‑tenure track) position that reports to the Chair of the Department of Social Work. The department offers undergraduate and MSW programs, including an in‑person and online MSW with a focus on rural social work and clinical practice. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
This position will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted until midnight (Eastern Time Zone) on the posting end date.
Responsibilities- Teach courses across the curriculum with a special emphasis on Graduate Field Practicum courses in an online format.
- Carry a 4‑4 semester course load with the possibility of summer teaching.
- Advise and mentor social work students.
- Engage in service to the department, college, university, and profession.
- Earned Master of Social Work from an accredited program by the start date of appointment.
- At least two years post‑MSW practice experience.
- Hold a social work license or be licensure eligible.
- Experience teaching at the college level.
- Doctoral degree in social work (PhD or DSW) or closely related field.
- Experience teaching at the graduate level.
- Demonstrated proficiency with e‑learning and online course development/delivery.
- Licensed Independent or Clinical Social Worker.
- Experience supervising students in an agency setting.
- Social work practice/teaching experience in rural areas.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a collaborative team.
