Position: Home Education Support Teacher
Koinonia Christian School - Red Deer Society is an Alberta accredited school authority, with three schools:
Koinonia@Home, providing home education and distance learning programs, Emmaus Learning Community, a designated special education private school, and Red Deer Campus, a campus-based K-12 school. All candidates for any position at Koinonia Christian School - Red Deer must be in agreement with our Statement of Faith. Candidates must also provide a clean criminal record and child welfare information system check.

Able to design effective strategies to meet students' diverse learning needs

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education Alberta Interim or Permanent Teaching Certificate or Letter of Authority Adherence to the Koinonia Christian Education Society Statement of Faith, without reservation

Canadian resident Applicants for a teaching role in KCSRD are required to submit the following documents:

Your philosophy of education

Two references including one from a pastor and a professional reference

Transcripts or evaluations if available

Criminal record check that includes Vulnerable Sector Support Teachers for Koinonia @ Home are needed for a variety of locations in the province to serve families interested in Home Education in a Christian community.

Experience with Home Education, either as a student or a teacher/parent, is an asset. A desire to support families pursuing Home Education is a requirement.

Online Teachers with experience, or who are tech savvy and eager to learn are welcome to apply. Part time positions are available in several subject areas. .5 FTE Teachers needed we would like to start a Blended program in a number of our communities. The teacher would teach grades 1-3 one day of week in Math, Language Arts and an option (depending on teacher and location) provide work for the parents to administer in these subjects the rest of the week.

Students would then drop off last weeks work during the all-day class and pick up the next weeks work.​Candidates are welcome to apply at any time of year for future positions.
