Job Summary


Tutor Prime is seeking dedicated and academically strong tutors to provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring to students across Calgary. We offer both in-home and online tutoring services for students from Grade 1 through Grade 12.


We are currently hiring tutors with expertise in one or more of the following subject areas:

• Math (Elementary to Senior High)
• English Language Arts (Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High)
• Science
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Social Studies
• French (Core French, Early French Immersion, Late French Immersion, and Senior High School French Immersion)

Applicants may specialize in specific grades, subject levels, or immersion streams.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and confident in supporting Alberta curriculum outcomes while helping students build academic confidence and independent learning skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' academic needs and develop tailored lesson plans to address their individual challenges.
• Provide instruction in assigned subject areas, ensuring that concepts are clearly understood and retained.
• Adapt teaching strategies to match different learning styles and grade levels.
• Communicate effectively with students and parents to support academic progress.
• Monitor student development and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
• Create a positive and motivating learning environment.
• Maintain professionalism and consistency in all tutoring sessions.

• Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education preferred (University/College students and graduates encouraged to apply)
• Strong knowledge of Alberta curriculum (K–12)
• Proficient knowledge in one or more academic subject areas
• Must reside in Calgary, AB at the time of application
• Fluent in English (French proficiency required for French tutoring roles)

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle (required for in-home tutoring)
• Availability during weekday evenings and/or weekends
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Must complete Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Familiarity with Alberta CBE curriculum

Compensation:

Hourly wage: $18–$30/hour (based on qualifications, subject expertise, and experience)

This is a part-time, contract-based position. Compensation varies based on subject level and tutor qualifications.

Tutoring Location – Calgary


In-home tutoring across Calgary communities (NW, NE, SW, SE) and online tutoring available province-wide.
