Course Description

Neuroanatomy course and lab provides a systematic survey of the structure of the human nervous system, including major pathways, neurotransmitters, and functions.

Responsibilities
* The GSI is expected to attend all lectures in 570 and hold weekly office hours and study sessions on an as-needed basis. The GSI is not expected to be as expert as the faculty but should be able to answer most student questions regarding the subject matter. The GSI will provide mentoring to any students with difficulty in the course materials.

With guidance from faculty, the GSI will give a full lecture (schedule to be determined) and is expected to help generate and grade exam questions based on the content of these lectures. The GSI proctors all written exams.

This GSI is expected to set up and put away all materials including microscopes, platinated brains, Prado projectors and slide boxes. They will present an overview of the day?s lesson and guide the students through the material. This GSI will be responsible for creating, setting up and grading laboratory practical exams.

Required Qualifications
* * Successful completion of NEUROSCI
570.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications
* * Significant previous research experience in neuroscience.
