Summary
We are looking for an Assistant Director for our Christian preschool program. This role works alongside an administrative team to plan, direct, or coordinate all activities of our preschool. This role is a balance of administrative tasks ensuring a quality of care and compliance with all state regulations and working with teachers, families, and students to provide everyone with a fun, safe, and enjoyable school experience where children can learn and grow and build the foundation of their future school success.
Duties- Work cohesively alongside an administrative team
- Manage school day when Director is not on-site
- Be familiar with DHS and Trinity policies and ensure they are being followed throughout the program
- Manage substitutes and arrange for substitute care as needed for school staff
- Assist with staff management
- Maintain communication with families and attended to needed tasks daily
- Complete all required professional development and DHS required tasks
- Ensure lessons throughout the school are developmentally appropriate and follow state standards
- Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities and policies and students' behavioral or learning problems
- Prepare and maintain classroom and administrative reports
- Maintain all school organization records within brightwheel app; student profiles, billing, and classrooms, calendars, etc.
- Work with children, staff and families when children have behavioral or developmental concerns
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training staff
- Work with administrative team to create policies and procedures to help the school run smoothly
- Organize and direct enrichment programs, support services, and committees of volunteers
- Requires about 30 hours/week during the school year with decreased work hours through the summer, mainly from home
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an educational child care setting
- Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role
- Degree in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- A strong understanding of child development
- A love for children and desire to help them grow in Christ
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritize needs
- Eagerness to learn and take on a challenge
- Willingness to fill in for any school employee if needed
- Proficient in using all forms of Google Drive, or able to learn quickly
- Must pass a background check and health screening
- Skilled in using Google Drive
- Familiar with brightwheel school management app
- Familiar with Canva
- CPR and First Aid certified (will train if not current)
