Job Description and DutiesThis is a limited‑term position (12 months) with the possibility of extension up to 24 months or transition to a permanent role.
The Analyst I on the Employer Help Team works under the Pension Program Manager I and is responsible for:
- Analyzing membership and contribution data and reporting adjustments
- Clarifying employer‑approved annotations to ensure accurate, timely data transmission in compliance with the Education Code
- Assisting in employer training, including occasional in‑state travel
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Every 12 months, performance evaluation may result in a 5% salary increase, up to the position’s maximum.
This position is subject to the Personal Leave Program 2025, which includes a 3% base pay reduction in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits for the duration of the program.
Working ConditionsCalSTRS offers a hybrid approach with in‑office and remote work solutions. All staff are employees of the State of California and are subject to state employment taxes and with holdings. Successful candidates must provide a current California address for remote work location.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. by the start date.
Minimum RequirementsAnalyst I classification salary range: $3,861.00 – $4,839.00 (A), $4,181.00 – $5,233.00 (B), $5,014.00 – $6,276.00 (C). New to State candidates receive the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range.
