Overnight Safety Coordinator; RAHI

RAHI is a unique six‑week college prep program at UAF that helps rural and Alaska Native students explore higher education, earn college credits, and participate in enriching activities. As an Overnight Safety Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming dorm environment for students living on campus.

• Ensure the safety of both students and staff through regular dorm patrols.
• Respond to emergencies and enforce safety protocols while maintaining a supportive, community‑driven atmosphere.
• Provide mentorship and support student community‑building, helping students navigate challenges.
• Balance safety responsibilities with a leadership and nurturing role, encouraging positive living environments.
• Work the night shift (typically 9 pm–10 am) and be available on‑call as required.

• Driver’s license and a clean driving record (3 years) with no felony arrest or conviction.
• High school graduate or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum age 21.
• Strong sense of responsibility, ability to remain calm in emergencies, and strong communication skills.
• Proactive mentoring and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Commitment to student success, both academically and personally.
• Ability to provide reliable transportation when needed.

This full‑time, non‑exempt temporary staff position is located on the Troth Yeddha’ Campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. New hires are placed on the UA Temporary Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 77, based on education and experience.
