Online Teaching, Tutoring
You have solved challenging problems. Now apply that ability where it matters most: with high-performing students preparing to compete, qualify, and succeed. GT School serves families seeking more than strong report cards. We develop gifted learners through meaningful competition: national and international events, transparent results, and accomplishments that remain valuable over time. This position exists to ensure our math program consistently produces students who are sharper, more confident, and prepared for competitive environments.
This is not a standard tutoring position. You will facilitate live online workshops designed to challenge exceptional students, guide focused preparation for competitions such as AMC and AIME, and develop reusable content that elevates standards across GT Anywhere and GT campus locations. If you excel at transforming potential into documented results and can communicate advanced concepts clearly, this role will suit you.
If you possess a verifiable track record of mathematical achievement and wish to contribute to developing the next generation of competitors, we invite your application. There is so much to cover for this exciting role, and space here is limited. Hit the Apply button if you found this interesting and want to learn more. We look forward to meeting you!
You Will Be Doing
- Plan and facilitate 2–4 live online domain workshops weekly that develop competition-standard mathematical reasoning
- Provide 1:1 or small-group coaching for specific competitions using practice exams, timed exercises, and comprehensive feedback
- Identify weaknesses quickly and develop tailored growth plans aligned with each student's objectives and contest schedule
- Monitor student advancement through a structured math development framework and modify teaching methods based on data
- Produce original, high-rigor problem collections and modular instructional resources that other teachers can implement broadly
- Provide general homework assistance or grade-focused tutoring without defined, trackable results
- Conduct traditional classroom instruction limited to standard curriculum expectations
- Offer unplanned problem practice lacking structure, assessment, and competition preparation
- Rely on borrowed or insufficient materials that fail to satisfy competitive mathematics standards
Key Responsibilities
This role exists to ensure gifted students reliably produce measurable, competition-standard math outcomes that GT School can recognize and families can depend on.
Basic Requirements- Documented elite mathematical accomplishment (e.g., Olympiad medal, AIME qualification, top national ranking, or comparable verified achievement)
- Minimum 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with demonstrable results
- Capacity to communicate advanced mathematics in clear, accessible terms to gifted young students
- Comprehensive knowledge of math competition structures, content areas, and preparation methods (e.g., AMC, AIME, Olympiads)
- Effective virtual instruction skills and ability to maintain student engagement through video platforms
- Availability for 5–10 hours weekly
- Stable internet connection and professional video equipment
- Current, ongoing participation as a competitor, coach, or creator of competition-oriented materials
- Background developing reusable instructional libraries, problem collections, or curricula for use by other educators
- Documented student achievements including qualifications, rankings, medals, or other official competition results
