Overview
This is a fully remote, part-time position responsible for delivering high-quality online instruction and clinical supervision to graduate-level students in the Nurse Practitioner (NP) track programs. The role mentors future NPs, bridging theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical application, and collaborates with the track coordinators, the Director of Graduate Nursing, and the Online Division. It is a semester-by-semester position based on program needs.
Responsibilities- Deliver course materials, lectures, and assignments per curriculum and learning objectives.
- Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of students during clinical rotations, and communicate effectively with clinical preceptors.
- Assess student performance through grading assignments, quizzes, exams, and clinical evaluations.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback per university policies to foster critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional growth.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Director and Track Coordinator regarding student progress and concerns.
- Maintain currency in clinical practice and educational best practices to ensure course content aligns with current guidelines and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and grades in the university's LMS.
- Collaborate with full-time faculty, the Online Division, and Program Administration for a cohesive educational experience.
- Complete end-of-course summaries each term.
- Meet with the Program Director at the end of each semester to review course evaluations and provide feedback.
- Complete required training for online teaching and university compliance.
- Attend staff meetings to stay current on program policies and practices.
- Attend faculty development opportunities virtually when available.
- Earned doctorate in nursing or related field preferred.
- NP license/certification in specialty track if teaching core courses in that track.
- Master’s degree in education or NP licensure required (track dependent).
- Active unencumbered United States RN licensure.
- Active unencumbered United States Advanced Practice (nurse practitioner) licensure in specialty areas.
- Minimum of three years of documented college/university-level teaching preferred.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience preferred; faculty must have documented clinical advanced practice expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with online learning platforms such as Canvas or Blackboard and educational technology.
- Understanding of accreditation requirements.
Physical demands include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. No other substantial physical activity is required.
