RoleDo you have experience teaching carpentry in Further Education or are you an experienced carpenter looking for a new challenge? We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Lecturer to join our growing team. You will want to pass on your skills to the next generation and will need to have relevant experience in construction. We welcome applications for part‑time or full‑time contracts.
You will work with Senior Lecturers and the Head of Department to ensure our delivery is world‑class and that we produce work‑ready students for employment or career progression. The ideal candidate will be committed to self‑development and to keeping up to date with industry innovation.
Responsibilities- Teach and learn about carpentry and multi‑skills within a Further Education context.
- Collaborate with Senior Lecturers and the Head of Department to design and refine course content.
- Ensure delivery is world‑class and supports students in becoming work‑ready.
- Maintain up‑to‑date industry knowledge and incorporate innovation into teaching.
- Support student progress and professional development.
- Experience teaching carpentry in FE or proven experience as a qualified carpenter.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry engagement.
- Awareness of safeguarding principles and the PREVENT agenda.
- Preferred experience of roles such as Carpentry Lecturer, Construction Lecturer, Skilled Trades Lecturer, Building Services Lecturer, HNC/D Lecturer, Academic Lecturer, University Lecturer, Education Lead, Academic Lead, College Tutor, Tutor, Teacher, College Teacher.
