Temporary Digital Learning Developer

Contract:

Up to 12-month temporary

Day rate: £200 - £250

Location:

Edinburgh (E12) - 3 days onsite, 2 days working from home

Hours:

Mon-Fri, 9-5

What you’ll do:

As a Digital Learning Developer, you will immerse yourself in the creation of engaging digital content designed to elevate employee knowledge and job performance. Your day‑to‑day activities will involve collaborating closely with colleagues across different regions to deliver micro‑learning modules that are both visually appealing and pedagogically sound. You will be responsible for ensuring all materials meet rigorous accessibility standards while also reflecting the latest trends in educational technology.

By leveraging your expertise in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Figma, Vyond, Centrical, Synthesia, SCORM compliance, and LMS platforms like Oracle, you will bring innovative ideas to life. Success in this role means not only producing high‑quality digital assets but also fostering an inclusive learning culture where every employee feels supported on their development journey.

  • Design and develop impactful digital learning solutions tailored to diverse audiences, ensuring each piece of content supports business up‑skilling objectives.
  • Utilise agile development methodologies to create engaging e‑learning courses, infographics, animations, simulations, assessments, microlearnings, and interactive learning games.
  • Ensure all training materials adhere strictly to audio/visual technical specifications, brand guidelines, accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 A‑AA, and industry best practices.
  • Work collaboratively on multiple large‑scale projects with stakeholders from various departments as part of a global Learning Development team.
  • Produce high‑quality digital learning assets consistently while maintaining project schedules and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Apply up‑to‑date knowledge of current trends in e‑learning, including advancements in artificial intelligence usage within learning environments.
  • Develop fully accessible digital solutions that cater to all learners, ensuring inclusivity is at the heart of every project delivered.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and incorporate feedback into ongoing projects.
  • Continuously improve personal expertise in educational technology, adult learning principles, and instructional design best practices through research and professional development.
  • Support the implementation and integration of digital learning solutions within existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms.
