Overview
Kenai Peninsula College is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor for our Soldotna campus. This role plays a central part in helping students thrive at KPC, part of the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Responsibilities- Provide personalized, proactive guidance to students across a wide range of degree programs.
- Explore academic options, create meaningful degree plans, and align coursework with students' personal and career goals.
- Regularly monitor progress and offer timely outreach, especially to students who may need extra support.
- Connect students to campus resources, ensuring they stay on track toward graduation.
- Advocate for students, collaborating with faculty, staff, and support services to address unique needs in our rural Alaska community.
- Support Alaska Native students and individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of university systems such as Banner, Degree Works, and EAB Navigate to support advising duties.
- Work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor’s degree and one year relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna, AK. - Full-time, term‑funded staff position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
- UA provides a generous compensation package including retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays, tuition waivers for employees and family, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage.
- New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 78, starting at $25.55 per hour based on education and experience.
- Hybrid and remote work may be approved for employees based in Alaska at the University's discretion; remote work for employees based outside the State of Alaska may be approved only in exceptional circumstances or when necessary.
