Job Summary

The Online Enrollment Coordinator will assist in the daily operations and management of the Office of Distance Education and Online Learning under the direct supervision of the Executive Director. This individual is responsible for overseeing the enrollment processes for online undergraduate and graduate students, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the university's academic programs. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the nuances of online education, exhibit a strong commitment to student success, and work closely with various university departments to facilitate the onboarding of distance learners.

Essential Job Duties
  • Coordinate the activities of enrollment staff, ensuring a cohesive approach to online student recruitment and retention under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
  • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and contributes to the development of enrollment strategies.
  • Monitor trends in online education demand and competition, adapting strategies to maintain and enhance Tuskegee University's competitive edge.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in distance education.
  • Act as the primary liaison for online students with the Office of the Registrar, guiding them through admissions, transfer credits, and program requirements, and resolving any academic or administrative issues.
  • Provide personalized support to enhance student success and retention.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring compliance with university policies, federal regulations (including FERPA), and institutional data governance standards.
  • Implement best practices for data security and integrity.
  • Work closely with the Office of the Registrar, Admissions Office, and academic departments to streamline the enrollment process.
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships to support institutional goals.
  • Organize and facilitate New Online Students Orientations, preparing students for the demands of online learning and familiarizing them with university resources, technology platforms, and support services.
  • Keep abreast of university policies, degree programs, and technological advancements to provide the highest level of service to students and faculty.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the enrollment workflow.
  • Manage educational technology platforms and systems related to online enrollment, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience for students and staff.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (education, higher education administration, student affairs, or related discipline).
  • At least two years of progressive experience in higher education, preferably in roles supporting non-traditional or online students.
  • Experience with enrollment management systems and online learning environments strongly preferred.
Physical Demands

Skills and Attributes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, or similar platforms), and demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new software and educational technology platforms quickly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including a confident and professional phone presence and the skill to engage effectively and empathetically with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.
