Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Columbus, OH, offering a full-time, on-site position at a school focused on intervention services. This role serves a diverse caseload of 16 students, ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade, with various disabilities under cross-categorical special education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities using individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general educators, specialists, and families to implement intervention strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods to meet individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and IEP development.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Qualifications &
Experience:
- Must hold a valid Ohio Special Education (SPED) teaching certification.
- Experience working with K-8 students in a cross-categorical special education setting preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff and families.
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 16 students.
- Commitment to working on-site Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM to 3:30 PM, including a half-hour lunch.
Additional Details:
- Position is full-time with an expected start date ASAP through the Extended School Year (ESY).
- This role does not offer remote work; on-site presence is required.
- The interviewing process includes a session with the director, possibly followed by an on-site second interview.
