Position Summary
The Online Associate (Adjunct) Faculty position is a part‑time, temporary adjunct teaching opportunity in the Bachelor of Science in Cyber & Data Security Technology (BSCDST) program at the University of Arizona Global Campus. Faculty perform duties related to online instruction, including posting guidance and expectations, facilitating classroom discussions, grading assignments, and providing timely responses to student inquiries. Faculty are expected to draw upon practical cybersecurity experience to connect academic concepts with real‑world applications.

EssentialJob Duties
- Emphasize a student‑centered learning environment through active engagement.
- Collaborate within the University community to ensure a positive overall experience for all University students, including cooperation with the Office of Access and Wellness, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and Student Records department.
- Adhere to faculty requirements such as facilitating discussion boards, grading assignments and discussions, and responding to student inquiries in a timely manner.
- Complete one professional development session per course taught (synchronous faculty development, webinars, course development feedback, etc.).
- Establish relationships by creatively using available tools and strategies to enhance student interaction and community building.
- Consistently foster critical thinking by challenging students to elaborate on their thoughts, question assumptions, examine biases, and clarify and defend positions.
- Provide instructive feedback that challenges and inspires students while offering specific suggestions to improve quality of work and thinking.
- Maintain high academic expectations and hold students accountable for insightful exchanges and high‑quality performance.
- Demonstrate expertise in cybersecurity by integrating personal experiences and industry standards to connect course material to real‑world examples.
- Facilitate discussion boards, grade assignments and projects, and provide timely feedback.
- Participate in professional development sessions for each course taught.
- Provide constructive feedback that promotes growth and inspires students.
- Maintain high academic expectations while supporting student learning.
- Resident and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Internet connection and computer with video capabilities.
- Work related experience in the area of your degree.
- Commitment to teaching in an online environment.
- Commitment to uphold the University’s diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
- Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Data Security, or a closely related field (with Cybersecurity certifications) from a regionally accredited institution.
- Practical professional work experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or a related role.
- College level teaching experience.
- Experience teaching in the area of your degree.
- Experience teaching online.
- PhD in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Active cybersecurity industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CySA+).
- Demonstrated ability to align academic instruction with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF).

Rate of Pay$19.25 – $29.97, DOE.
