Position: Youth Program Lead Facilitator - .75 FTE

This part time, year‑round, non‑exempt position is up to 30 hours per week. Monday‑Friday hours are program‑based and vary from school year to summer.

Assists in supporting youth, grades K‑5, in partnership with our Out‑of‑School Time (OST) Programs, a program of Change Inc. This role is vital in building meaningful relationships, facilitating enrichment activities, and supporting young people socially, emotionally, and physically.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Program Functions:
    Assist with daily operations, including taking attendance, facilitating activities, and administering snacks.
  • Work closely with youth to identify and support development in leadership, self‑esteem, character, identity, and healthy relationships.
  • Provide instruction in literacy and/or STEM to individuals and small groups.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment for youth and staff.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with Program Coordinator regarding youth progress and challenges.
  • Help establish partnerships with outside organizations while working to address student needs beyond the classroom.
  • Administrative Functions:
    Manage, prepare and maintain individual and groups records including daily attendance, field trip rosters, meal tracking, and any additional reporting measures.
  • Work closely with the Program Coordinator to disperse program communications including recruitment flyers, community notices, and program updates.
  • Support program evaluation by conducting reflective exercises, data collection, and general assessments, as well as organizing and reviewing feedback.
  • Attend staff department meetings, training, and improvement initiatives.
  • Additional Functions:
    Help organize and facilitate community engagement nights and showcase events; supervise youth while in the community and during partnership events; participate in consistent engagement with program participants families and the local community.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements :
  • Education and Experience:

    Two or more years of college or post‑secondary education and two or more years of experience working with youth.
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in child development, human services, education, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Spanish speaking is preferred. Experience working with diverse urban youth and community populations.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Experience tutoring youth in literacy, STEM, and/or social‑emotional learning.
  • Experience facilitating and managing youth groups of 10‑20 participants.
  • Experience with platforms such as Teams, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    CPR and First Aid Certification preferred. Minnesota School Licensure a plus.

This position operates as part of our OST Program located at our Mulberry Junction campus, in Northeast Minneapolis. Reliable transportation to and from site is required. Hours can vary based on program needs. The role offers a hybrid opportunity to work from home at times, including on days when school is not in session. Must have the ability to sit or stand for long periods and utilize various office equipment on a continual basis.

During the school year, work hours are typically Monday‑Friday between 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM with flexibility as needed. In the summer, hours are Monday‑Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM with flexibility on Fridays. All agency employees must be competent to work effectively in a mission‑driven agency whose clients and staff exhibit significant diversity.
