Location: Southwestern Ontario

Power Take Off is seeking an Email Marketing Specialist to help support and continuously improve our email outreach campaigns for energy efficiency programs that meet or exceed the company's performance metrics and energy savings goals.

Position Summary

The Email Marketing Specialist will support various aspects of email outreach campaigns, including delivery, content creation, building and maintaining templates, and tracking. The ideal candidate is a technically skilled and proactive person who will be our in-house email marketing platform expert for delivering actionable, personalized energy-efficiency content and insights directly to businesses to help them reduce their energy waste. A successful candidate enjoys problem solving, learning new systems, collaborating across teams, taking ownership to find or recommend the tools and processes needed to make a project successful, embodying a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer email marketing and sales engagement platforms (e.g. Outreach.io, One Signal) and serve as an internal platform expert to assist the team with questions and problems
  • Manage the configuration of the email marketing platform to ensure email campaigns run smoothly
  • Maintain an active outreach calendar by managing the frequency of contact with customers
  • Act as a point of contact with the vendors of the email marketing software to stay informed about changes
  • Assist in selecting new email marketing platforms as company needs arise
  • Plan, create, test, and launch segmented email outreach campaigns
  • Plan: understand the scope and constraints of email campaigns and recommend detailed execution plans
  • Create: draft email campaign templates with automated input fields related to personalization
  • Test: verify the correct configuration of email templates and inputs through robust testing
  • Execute fully automated (trigger) and semi-automated (drip) email campaigns using the platform, SQL queries, data filters, data extensions, templates, and automation
  • Understand the data pipelines that affect email campaigns to configure, test and execute campaigns
  • The data pipeline for segmentation and personalization information may involve CRM, AWS cloud, spreadsheets, and other sources
  • Ensure compliance with email campaign regulations and stay up to date with regulatory changes affecting Power Take Off
  • Ensure email campaigns align with Power Take Off’s contractual requirements for the DSM programs it administers
  • Analyze and report metrics and campaign results to management to identify improvements, including deliverability, open, click, and conversion rates
  • Create reports and presentations on email campaign performance and communicate insights to other teams
  • A/B test email content, send timing, and segmentation to optimize campaigns
  • Complete HTML coding/scripting as needed to create adequate email body content
  • Provide input on effective language for high-quality outreach content
Key Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (preferred). Certifications related to email marketing platforms.
  • Experience:

    2-5 years in email marketing or a similar digital marketing role.
  • Email Marketing Platform experience:
    Proficient in One Signal; proficiency in Outreach.io, Mailchimp, Hub Spot, and Active Campaign is valued.
  • HTML, CSS and Liquid Syntax:
    Proficient with implementing email templates using conditional logic, loops, and variable parsing.
  • Campaign Strategy and Planning;

Location and Travel

Power Take Off is a 100% virtual company with no physical office location. Remote work is allowed; residence in the Denver, CO or Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario areas is preferred but not required. This position is eligible for employment in the United States or Canada. Travel is not expected for this position, and Power Take Off will cover related travel expenses if needed.

Compensation

and Benefits

The total base salary range for employees residing in the U.S. is $70,000-$85,000 USD and CAD 82,000-CAD 99,500 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include:
