Admissions is hiring an Admissions Counselor focused on serving prospective students from rural Alaska and their families. This position will build collaborative relationships with UAF's branch campuses in rural Alaska, routinely travel to rural communities to recruit students, and perform the full range of duties assigned to all Admissions Counselors.
These duties include meeting with students from any recruitment territory, responding to phone calls and emails directed to the department, assisting with recruitment events, and working closely with student ambassadors.
The Admissions Counseling team has historically maintained this position, and this hire will fill a recently vacated role, maintaining three in-office admissions counseling positions. This position is crucial to advancing the mission of the Office of Admissions.
Are you an organized and creative individual with a passion for connecting with people and helping them succeed? Join our team and play a key role in representing UAF (University of Alaska Fairbanks) to prospective students and their families!
We're looking for someone with strong organizational skills and a knack for public speaking who can confidently talk about all that UAF has to offer-whether it's academic programs, financial aid, residence life, student services, or advising. If you have leadership experience, excellent decision-making skills, and the ability to coordinate events both big and small, we'd love to hear from you!
This role is perfect for a team player who can also work independently, juggle multiple priorities, and bring creative ideas to the table. You'll need to maintain confidentiality, adapt to diverse audiences, and present UAF in a positive, engaging way. Strong cross-cultural communication skills, a student-centered ethic, and a willingness to travel are essential.
If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of future students while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, apply today! Let's work together to showcase why UAF is an incredible place to learn and grow.
