* Position Title:
Adjunct Faculty, MFA Illustration Practice (Grad Remix)
**** Summary of
Essential Functions:
*** Teach graduate students a remote elective course planned and developed with the ILP program director under the Grad Remix umbrella.
* To assess graduate students in their development and realization of ideas related to stated goals of assigned and self-directed projects.
*
* Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*** Plan and implement a 16 week syllabus
* Plan multiple assignments and prepare visual presentation introductions
* Teach graduate students skills in making and improving concepts related to specific assignments.
* Teach students to execute and export print-quality digital files, analyze and hone their ideation, and research alternate solutions for production.
* Motivate and improve students ideation abilities.
* Provide tangible information related to the course to students in the form of readings, talks, handouts, etc.
* Meet with students remotely in group and individually to conduct critiques on works in progress and final work.
* Create specific weekly course content for students to respond to and a weekly deliverables schedule.
* Present information to students orally and in writing that engages thinking into concepts and ideation.
* Assess student work throughout the semester and at its conclusion to meet the criteria of the course and standards of graduate studies.
* Develop systems of remediation for work that is not meeting standards and evaluate work for midterm and final grading. .
* Collaborate with the program director on connecting the course to ILP program initiatives.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Knowledge of illustration, design, and printing methodologies, uses of ideation, pedagogical strategies and the graduate environment.
* Skills include traditional and digital media understanding and the use of both environments to improve student work; the utilization of ideation and concept building own work; being a good communicator and show patience for a diverse set of learners.
* Ability to motivate students, assess work and levy grading, be organized, manage students in a classroom and engage students in social and web environments.
* Ability to evaluate sketch work, advanced concepts and techniques toward students creating finished works.

* Minimum qualifications:
*** MFA in related field
* Demonstrated portfolio of related work
* Graduate level critique experience
*
* Preferred Qualifications:
*** Experience with print production.
* Experience teaching remotely
** Reporting to this position:
*** ILP Program Director
** Conditions of Employment:
*** Satisfactory background check results
** Salary Range:*** $4,515.00 - $7,656.00 (commensurate with experience)
** Physical demands and work environment:**
* * Physical Demands:
* While performing the duties of job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

* * Work environment:
* While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
* * Required training:
* Exhibitions Department Installation Guide and Policy handbook, MICA Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment. (additional training may be added, SEE: EHS Manager training schedule)
