We are looking for Mentors , Tutors and Teachers to deliver outreach and home-based education to vulnerable learners across the city.
These roles are ideal for educators who value relationship-led teaching , thrive in non-traditional learning environments , and understand that education often starts with pastoral support, trust and emotional safety .
About the Role As an Menot, Tutor or Teacher working in outreach, home tuition or alternative provision , you will support children and young people who may be out of school due to SEND, SEMH, medical needs, school refusal or placement breakdown.
Many learners require consistent pastoral support alongside academic tuition, and you will play a key role in helping them re-engage with learning and rebuild confidence.
Responsibilities- Deliver in-person tuition in homes, community settings or alternative provisions
- Support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, including MLD, SLD and PMLD
- Work with learners from KS1 to KS5, depending on your experience and preferences
- Plan and deliver flexible, trauma-informed and personalised sessions
- Provide pastoral and mentoring support, including emotional regulation and confidence building
- Adapt teaching to suit each learner’s environment, pace and emotional needs
- Track progress and provide feedback to schools and local authorities
- Professional teaching qualifications such as CELTA, TEFL, TESOL or QTS
- Experience working with vulnerable children and young people, ideally within SEND, SEMH, outreach or alternative provision settings
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic approaches
- Calm, patient and adaptable approach to teaching and behaviour
- Ability to work independently across different settings (travel between placements may be required)
- Dedicated consultant team available 24/7 to support you from onboarding onwards
