ACRT, Inc. is seeking an experienced arboriculture professional with a strong background in training, leading, and developing field personnel in arboriculture and utility line clearance operations. This remote position requires approximately 75% travel throughout the United States to deliver training at customer locations and ACRT company sites.
Candidates will serve as subject matter experts in arborist safety and field operations, delivering structured, hands‑on training to students performing arboricultural and utility‑related work. The Traveling Crew Trainer will coach, provide feedback, evaluate skill development, and reinforce safe work practices across a wide range of experience levels. This role requires extensive travel nationwide to support workforce development initiatives and ensure consistent safety and performance standards across regions.

This position will provide hands‑on and classroom‑based training in electrical hazard awareness, hazard tree identification and mitigation, utility pruning standards, roping and rigging techniques, felling procedures, line strike prevention, rescue techniques, and both basic and advanced climbing systems. Candidates must have experience in tree care, utility line clearance operations, and climbing techniques. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with and instruct diverse groups of adult learners, clearly demonstrate technical skills in both field and classroom settings, and maintain a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
The Traveling Crew Trainer will be responsible for the following:
- Deliver classroom and hands‑on field training nationwide on topics including electrical hazard awareness, hazard tree identification and mitigation, utility pruning standards, roping and rigging techniques, felling procedures, line strike prevention, rescue techniques, and basic and advanced climbing systems.
- Travel approximately 75% throughout the United States to conduct training at customer locations and ACRT company sites.
- Coordinate and book personal travel arrangements in alignment with company travel policies.
- Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical skill assessments, and participation; record and submit student scores, attendance records, and required documentation for certificate processing and data entry.
- Review and grade self‑certification materials and examinations; upload and maintain accurate student training records.
- Collect, review, and analyze course evaluations and participant feedback to continuously improve training delivery, content effectiveness, and overall student experience.
- Develop new and customized training programs to meet specific customer needs, regulatory requirements, and operational challenges.
- Review, update, and maintain course curricula, examinations, and training materials on an annual basis to ensure alignment with current industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and industry representative by attending and presenting at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Actively support business development efforts by identifying potential training opportunities, cultivating new customer relationships, and maintaining strong partnerships with existing clients.
