Overview
This is an hourly position, and rate of pay is $20.57 per hour. The Instructional Assistant works 1 to 4 hours per week, sharing your area of expertise with H.O.M.E. Program students, under the guidance and supervision of a certificated teacher. Information regarding our H.O.M.E Program can be found below.
Program DetailsH.O.M.E. stands for Homeschool Opportunities for Merging Education. The Renton School District H.O.M.E. Program is a Parent Partnership Program serving approximately 120 students in grades K-10. We offer enrichment classes for K-8 and high school credit classes for 9th & 10th grade students. Most of our students attend the H.O.M.E. Program one or two days per week, and complete their other assignments and school work at home with their parent as the learning coach.
Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays are mostly for younger K-6th grade students, and Tuesdays and Thursdays are for middle school and high school students. For more information, please contact lizbeth.loretomacias or call .

- Instruct students under the supervision of a certificated teacher.
- Use the approved curriculum and evaluate students' progress toward attainment of learning objectives.
- Contribute to the orderly development and conduct of program learning activities and curriculum.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere.
- Provide for individual learning needs of students under his/her direction.
- Maintain appropriate individual student records.
- Maintain regular attendance; adhere to board policy.
- Perform appropriate tasks as designated by the principal/program head or department head in relation to the responsibilities listed above.
- Pass Washington State Patrol Background Check and Fingerprinting
- Ability to articulate and implement State of Washington Essential Academic Learning requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement appropriate positive behavior interventions for students.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with age-appropriate students, staff and multicultural community.
- Possess general knowledge and varied experience.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
