GT School serves gifted K–8 students seeking high-stakes learning, not casual activities. This position is designed to transform talented players into composed competitors who deliver results under pressure. You will facilitate live virtual workshops, provide tournament-centered coaching, and develop reusable instructional materials that elevate standards across GT Anywhere and GT campuses.

This is not standard chess instruction. GT recruits accomplished competitors, not general-purpose tutors. You will engage with driven students, defined skill tiers, and concrete objectives. Strong performance in this role is reflected in rating improvements, sharper decision-making under time constraints, and tournament outcomes families recognize.

• Deliver 2–4 live virtual domain workshops weekly (60–90 minutes) focused on advanced strategy, tactics, and competitive patterns
• Evaluate each student's skill level and tailor instruction to ensure every session is challenging, engaging, and builds confidence
• Prepare students for upcoming tournaments via mock matches, game analysis, and individualized development plans
• Monitor student advancement against benchmarks and analyze game data to address the most impactful skill gaps
• Develop reusable lesson plans, puzzle sets, and strategic resources that other specialists can execute with consistency

• Deliver introductory lessons for casual learners that lack competitive focus
• Invest your time in administrative meetings or slow, multi-layered bureaucracy
• Conduct generic, standardized coaching that disregards a student's objectives and tournament schedule
• Operate without evidence of impact—outcomes and measurable progress define success here

This role ensures that gifted K–8 chess students achieve tournament readiness and secure measurable results in competitions that validate GT School's real-stakes commitment to families.

• Confirmed elite chess accomplishment (FIDE title, national/state ranking, high rating, or major tournament victory)
• A minimum of 6 months of teaching, coaching, or mentoring experience with documented examples of student progress
• Capacity to explain advanced concepts in clear language that gifted K–8 students can implement in actual games
• Confident virtual presence and proficiency in facilitating high-energy sessions via video
• Availability to commit 5–10 hours per week
• Dependable internet and a professional video configuration suitable for live teaching
• Willingness to submit credentials or a portfolio for verification

This is a part-time (10 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
