Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Teacher of ICT to join our team from September 2026.
The Information and Communications Technology Department
There are 5 teachers of ICT and Computer Science. The team are committed to delivering the highest standard of education and are enthusiastic and passionate about their subject areas. Every team member has a key role to play in developing schemes of work and resources. Within the team we have a Deputy Head with overall responsibility for CS & ICT, a Curriculum Leader for CS & ICT, a Course leader for KS4/5 Computer Science and 3 subject teachers, 2 with additional responsibilities outside of the department.
At Key Stage 3 all students follow the National Curriculum with students receiving 80 minutes per week. The amount of time dedicated to all areas is in line with national guidelines and students are taught in class sizes of 26 or less.
At Key Stage 4 students can either study GCSE CS or BTEC Tech Award DIT.
At Post 16, students study OCR ‘A’ Level CS or AAQ Level 3 IT. All courses offered are extremely popular among students, and achievement within the subject is excellent.
We are keen to give students a range of experiences and provide visits off site alongside inviting guest, speakers and industrialists into the Academy.
There are 6 designated Computer venues within the department, along with the use of study rooms when needed. All Computer venues have access to the latest software's including Microsoft Office 2021, Adobe CC 2025-26 and Python Idle 3.13. In addition to this the venues have the latest technology including interactive smart boards, ensuring that venues are conducive to outstanding learning. ICT plays a large role in planning and delivery of the curriculum and students can access resources online from home.
We are looking for a passionate teacher who is determined to inspire students with the subject. The successful candidate will work in a highly motivated and dedicated team which is committed to providing excellent learning opportunities for young people.
