Overview
Face to Face Tutors needed to provide core subject support (Maths, English, or Science) for Young People with SEND, SEMH and other Additional Educational Needs. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are looking for Tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners.
The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and able to create and deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis. A therapeutic approach may also be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). This role is perfect for qualified SEN / SEND tutors who are eager to work via 1:1 tutoring with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner, to raise their engagement and drastically improve the outlook of their educational journey.
- Provide Maths and English tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Prospero Teaching.
- Create and deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis; adapt approaches as needed and apply a therapeutic, trauma-informed tutoring style to re-engage learners.
- Support pupils with structure in their daily routine and contribute to their educational development, with the aim of enabling progression to an educational setting.
- Work with young people referred by local authorities and schools, providing flexible and holistic support for their educational and social-emotional journey.
- Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs.
- Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes.
- The gross pay for this role is between £25 p/h - £30 p/h (constituted of a base rate + 12.07% holiday pay).
