Position Type:
Semester-based adjunct appointment, with the possibility of renewal depending on enrollment needs and performance.
Primary
Purpose:
Teach geology courses in accordance with established course outlines and the published schedule.
Prepare and teach geology courses.
Deliver all courses fully online asynchronously.
Maintain accurate student records and submit all required college reports in a timely manner.
Collaborate with colleagues and administrators in program planning, assessment, and continuous improvement processes.
Prepare, review, and update course outlines regularly.
Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as needed.
Assist with the selection and ordering of equipment, supplies, and textbooks.
Support student retention and success through timely communication and feedback.
Cooperate in scheduled student evaluations of instructor and courses.
Attend instructor and departmental meetings as scheduled.
Maintain professional competence through ongoing professional development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications. Candidates must meet one of the following:
Master’s degree in Geology OR
Master’s degree in a closely related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Geology.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to use computers and instructional technologies, including course management systems, word processing, email, Internet, and student information systems.
Previous community college teaching experience.
Demonstrated online teaching experience.
