Our model blends flexibility, academic support, and a strong sense of community through live lessons, small‑group instruction, and individualized intervention.

Colearn Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Teacher to join our growing team. This full‑time role serves students in grades K–5 in a virtual, home‑based learning environment where parents are active partners in their child’s education. The Elementary Teacher provides engaging live instruction, clear guidance for at‑home learning, and strong communication with families to support student growth across core subject areas.

The ideal candidate is passionate about inclusion, skilled in virtual instruction, and committed to building strong relationships with families and students.

• Plan and deliver engaging live and asynchronous instruction aligned with state standards for elementary students
• Provide instruction and support in core subject areas (English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies), as assigned
• Foster foundational skills in reading, writing, math, problem‑solving, and critical thinking
• Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain consistent communication with students and parents
• Support at‑home learning by providing clear instructions, resources, and encouragement to families
• Track student progress, identify learning gaps, and provide interventions in collaboration with support staff
• Maintain accurate grade books, attendance records, and documentation in the learning management system
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency across grade levels and alignment of instruction
• Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions
• Build positive relationships with students and families and contribute to a strong school community

• Must reside in South Carolina
• Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Experience teaching elementary‑aged students (K–5)
• Strong understanding of state standards and elementary instructional best practices
• Experience with virtual or blended instruction (preferred)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to partner effectively with parents in a home‑based learning model
• Experience using learning management systems (Canvas, Schoology, or similar)
• Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and student‑centered instruction
