Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Educational Development at the SUNY CPD, the Accessibility Program Manager is part of the SUNY CPD senior staff and provides leadership and coordination of the development and continuous improvement of professional development programs for communities served through work of the EIT Accessibility Initiative. The SUNY Accessibility Program Manager interacts with the Assistant Provost for EIT Accessibility, CPD staff, DIAS and Academic Leadership in the SUNY Provosts Office, Director of Resources for Students with Disabilities in the SUNY Student Success Office, and other SUNY EIT stakeholders on the campuses to understand their needs, facilitate curriculum development, and establish/implement program assessment mechanisms.

EIT Accessibility professional development programs and offerings are designed to continuously develop and improve the knowledge, skills, capabilities, and competencies of EIT Accessibility stakeholders serving in their various faculty, staff, and student roles. The Accessibility Program Manager will be a key member of the SUNY CPD Team and will work closely with those in campus roles served by the EIT Accessibility Officers, such as Directors of Online Education on the SUNY campuses, campus-based online instructional designers, web developers, disability professionals, Chief Information Officers, online practitioners in various roles on campuses, SUNY Online staff, the CPD staff, and organizations outside of SUNY.

This is a remote position, with a required location of within New York State as travel to Quarterly in-person meetings is required. Remote positions within the SUNY CPD may be subject to change with a possible move to office space located on the nearest SUNY campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in education, instructional design, information technology, disability services, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional development, instructional design, accessibility, higher education program development, or a related area.

Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating, or managing training programs, workshops, or curriculum. Experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including faculty, staff, administrators, and technical teams. Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines and ADA title II standards. Familiarity with universal design principles and accessibility best practices for digital content, instructional materials, and educational technologies. Understanding of learning technologies and delivery models (asynchronous, synchronous, hybrid, in person).

Ability to evaluate program effectiveness using data, assessment tools, and feedback mechanisms. Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects and timelines. Experience coordinating instructors, facilitators, or subject matter experts. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across departments, campuses, and external organizations. Ability to provide leadership in program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Ability to travel occasionally for SUNY wide events, trainings, or meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the SUNY System and experience working with campus staff. Familiarity SUNY University-wide program services. Knowledge of major SUNY initiatives and trends within the industry of higher education.
