Instructional Aide
Organization: ICEF (Inner City Education Foundation) Public Schools – a nonprofit charter school management organization serving South Los Angeles. We operate tuition‑free schools and aim to prepare all students for top college opportunities.
Position
Description:
Instructional Aides support full‑time teachers with clerical work, classroom activities, and individual or small group instruction. They assist students needing extra help, prepare instructional materials, supervise students, and carry out clerical duties as needed.
Reporting: Assistant Principal
FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt
Pay Cycle: 10 months
Salary: Commensurate with Experience

Essential Functions- Student Academic Support:
- Conduct small group learning sessions with identified students.
- Provide individual and small group assistance with classwork.
- Monitor student engagement and work completion during direct instruction.
- Administer assessments as directed by the teacher or school administration.
- Learning Environment:
- Prepare materials for the class under the direction of the teacher.
- Use an answer key to grade tests and student assignments, record grades, draft correspondence to parents, and handle routine filing of student work.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of the classroom environment.
- Student Supervision:
- Reinforce classroom rules and directions to promote positive student behavior.
- Supervise hallways, playground, and lunch periods.
- Supervise students before, during, and after school.
- Professional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with co‑workers.
- Arrive to work on time daily.
- Adhere to school and ICEF policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education and/or
Experience:- Associates Degree or a minimum of 48 college units.
- Or passage of the CBEST and/or Instructional Assistance Test (IAT).
- Proficient with Google, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Reliable, insured transportation and willingness to travel between schools and the home office as required.
- Proof of clear TB, DOJ, and FBI clearance.
- Documentation of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Employees must sit frequently, occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands. Movement and lifting up to 25 pounds is occasionally required. Vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
