** What you need to know
**** Hours**:
** Full-time roles:
** 35 hours per week, worked across 5 days out of 7. You will be required to work evenings and weekends to meet service needs, with notice of 2 weeks provided in advance.
** Part-time roles:
** We can consider a range of hours starting from
** 17.5 hours per week upwards**, worked over multiple days. Evening and weekend work will be required to meet service needs, with notice of 2 weeks provided in advance. Patterns can be discussed and agreed with successful candidates.

** The listed salary is for a full-time role. If you’re applying for a part-time, we will calculate your pay on a pro-rata basis. The hourly rate is £15.24 per hour.

** Hybrid. You will spend most of your time delivering activities within Glasgow Life venues, voluntary organisations, and local schools. You will also spend part of your week in Glasgow Life office bases or working from home to plan and prepare for delivery.
** What you’ll do
** As a Learning Assistant (Youth Worker), you’ll be an integral part of our established Youth Work Team, reporting to the Libraries and Communities Officer. You’ll play an essential role in delivering youth work interventions to young people aged 12-18 across the city. Youth Work is an informal education practice that supports young people’s social, emotional and educational development. It can be adapted across a variety of settings and typically engages with young people within their local communities, in schools or on the streets.

You’ll develop, adapt and deliver a wide range of learning experiences for groups of young people aged 12-18. You’ll actively seek out and engage with new and existing groups of young people across the city and support the delivery of the service’s strategic objectives.
You’ll be keen and enthusiastic, able to relate well to a number of different groups of young people and be flexible and adaptable, able to deliver in different contexts, whether in a school-based setting, partner organisation or on the streets. You’ll be able to plan and deliver innovative youth work sessions based on the needs of the young people you engage with and evaluate the impact of your work.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.
We’re looking for:
* Relevant experience of delivering play, youthwork, creative arts (art, drama) or coaching activities in an educational or community-based setting.
* Excellent communication skills – written and oral demonstrated through reports, presentation or facilitation of groups.
* Ability to adapt programmes and sessions according to the needs of different audiences.
