Overview
Middle School English Teacher at Stride, Inc. North Carolina Virtual Academy (NCVA). Essential Functions- Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Personalizes learning for all students
- Believes in every student’s ability to succeed and maintain high expectations
- Differentiates instruction based on student mastery
- Augments course content according to policies using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach
- Maintains grade book, informs on student placement and progress, and alerts administrators to concerns
- Prepares students for high-stakes standardized tests
- Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families; communicates with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Supports learning coaches/parents with instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom
- Travels as required for professional development, student testing, and school needs (approximately 20% of the time)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- Experience teaching online and/or in brick-and-mortar environments
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Ability to work with data to drive instructional decisions
- Open to coaching from administrators and trainers
- Ability to adapt to change for excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Maintain teacher certification and professional development hours; fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
Stride, Inc. determines salary based on education, experience, qualifications, location, travel, market conditions, internal value, and benefits elections. Offers are typically in the bottom half of the salary range.
