OverviewStride K12 partner school (TXSS) seeks a passionate Special Education Compliance Coordinator. This is a full-time remote position requiring independent work and a professional home office. Typical work hours are 8am–5pm Central Time, with ~40+ hours per week.

Residency RequirementsTexas. May consider residents of surrounding states (New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana). This position could include travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.

Role DescriptionThe Special Education Compliance Coordinator is a state-certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. The role provides instruction, support, and guidance, manages the learning process, and focuses on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). The coordinator collaborates with students and parents to advance learning and is responsible for compliance documents required for students with special needs.
EssentialFunctions
- Ensure all special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team
- Communicate with parents and related service staff to ensure appropriate therapies
- Develop IEPs, progress reports, and other state-specific required documentation
- Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings such as annual IEP meetings
- Use provided resources to ensure accommodations and modifications (assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, accessible text) as specified by the IEP
- Make modifications and accommodations to Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by the IEP
- Ensure inclusion and success of the student in the general education classroom
- Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Document all contact with parents and interventions with students
- Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment as needed
- Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Personalize learning for all students
- Maintain positive rapport with families and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues, including basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom
- Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Active State Special Education teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check

- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and present data to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to coaching from administrators
- Ability to embrace change and adapt for student success
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word;
Power Point - Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with the specified age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in using technology
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
