SEN Tutor Temporary

Position: SEN Tutor (Contract, Temporary)
SEN Tutor – Bexley (Autism / SEMH / ADHD/ Complex needs)

New Chapter Tuition is seeking a passionate SEN Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition to children and young people across Bexley.

This role involves supporting learners with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), SEMH, and ADHD, in community-based settings such as family homes, libraries, learning hubs, and alternative provisions. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference through personalised, nurture-led education.

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Tutor:

* Deliver 1:1 SEN / SEND tuition to children and young people

* Support learners with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, and other additional needs

* Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions aligned with individual learning and care plans

* Use nurture-led and flexible approaches to support emotional regulation, engagement, and progress

* Build positive, trusting relationships that support wellbeing and confidence

* Monitor learner progress and communicate effectively with families, schools, and professionals

* Maintain accurate session records and contribute to learner reviews

Person Specification as a SEN Tutor:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEND, including Autism, SEMH, or ADHD

* Understanding of the UK curriculum, with the ability to adapt learning flexibly

* Patient, calm, empathetic, and reliable approach

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills

* Confidence delivering 1:1 personalised tuition in home-based or alternative settings

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
