Location: This position is employed by Founding Forward and is based at its Philadelphia campus, located within The Union League of Philadelphia building at 140 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.

Our mission empowers students, educators, and communities to understand, appreciate, and practice the principles, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship.
Position Summary: The Student Program Coordinator manages operational and administrative details of Founding Forward's student-focused educational programs based in Philadelphia, ensuring smooth execution of programs like Good Citizen Day, Liberty Weekend, and two scholarship programs. This role requires close collaboration with staff, community partners, educators, and volunteers. The position is in-person with limited remote work, and requires flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities- Good Citizen Day:
Manage year-round planning and execution of all-day civic education program for 300 11th-grade students, including student nominations from partner organizations, coordination with staff and volunteers, educational sessions, awards banquet, and participant tracking. - Liberty Leaders:
Plan and coordinate this three-day immersive program for college-aged Good Citizen Awardees, serving as on-site program coordinator throughout the weekend to facilitate seminars, discussions, historic site visits, and communications with students, families, and partners. - Scholarship Programs:
Administer Union League and Abele Scholarship Programs, including application management, review processes, communications, record-keeping, and ongoing scholar engagement. - Program Operations and Administration:
Maintain relationships with partner organizations; collaborate with Founding Forward staff to manage event logistics and promotions; manage volunteer coordination, program calendar, and curriculum implementation; assist with assessment tools; prepare program impact reports; and ensure all administrative items are covered for these essential programs.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in education, civic engagement, or nonprofit program management preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
- Self-starter who takes initiative while working collaboratively within a team
- Ability to exhibit good judgment under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and database management software (ideally Salesforce)
- Passion for civic education and demonstrated commitment to Founding Forward's mission
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff, members, trustees, and the public
