Title:
Adjunct (general education)
As an Online Adjunct Faculty member in Healthcare Finance, you will deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in a virtual learning environment. Responsibilities include developing and facilitating engaging course content, assessing student progress, and providing timely feedback. You will guide students in applying financial principles to real-world healthcare settings, covering topics such as budgeting, financial analysis, reimbursement systems, and fiscal management within healthcare organizations.

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required Experience- Educational Background: A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field is typically required.
- Professional
Experience:
Significant experience (usually 3-5 years) in healthcare finance or a related area, such as healthcare administration, financial management, or accounting within healthcare organizations. - Teaching
Experience:
Previous teaching experience in higher education, particularly in healthcare finance or related subjects. Online teaching experience is often specifically required. - Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experience using online education platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle for course delivery, assessment, and student engagement.
- Communication
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively delivering course content and engaging with students in an online environment.
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Experience- Higher-Level Experience in Healthcare Finance:
Advanced experience (5+ years) in a senior financial management role within healthcare (e.g., CFO, Director of Finance) is often preferred. - Extensive Online Teaching
Experience:
Proven track record of teaching courses online, preferably in the healthcare finance discipline, with evidence of successful student outcomes and positive teaching evaluations. - Experience developing course content or curriculum, particularly in healthcare finance or related subjects, is a plus.
- Familiarity with Current Healthcare Trends:
Awareness of the latest developments in healthcare economics, policies, and finance to ensure the course material is up to date and relevant. - Experience with Adult Learners:
Experience working with adult learners, particularly in professional or graduate programs, is often preferred for adjunct faculty roles. - Certification in Online Teaching:
Certifications or additional training in online teaching methodologies or educational technology can be a strong advantage.
- Deliver synchronous/asynchronous lectures and discussions on healthcare finance topics.
- Develop and manage course materials, including syllabi, readings, and assignments.
