Middle School English Language Arts Teacher - Indiana Connections Academy

Overview

Middle School English Language Arts Teacher - Indiana Connections Academy (INCA). This is a remote position based in Indiana, serving K-12 virtual learners through INCA programs.

Working from a home office in Indiana, the Middle School English/Language Arts Teacher supports the school's mission, teaches students, and virtually manages instructional programs. Through phone calls, Zoom sessions, and various curriculum and communication tools, they consult regularly with students and caretakers/learning coaches to ensure that each student gains proficiency and demonstrates essential skills and standards for the course(s) taught.

• Guide homeroom students and families through academic programming requirements: maintain regular communication with students and parents/learning coaches; advise students and families related to academics and high school readiness; understand and assist with all required school testing, including ILEARN Checkpoints (remote) and the summative ILEARN (in person).
• Provide quality instruction and promote student achievement: plan data-driven instruction; create and deliver standards-based, objective-driven instruction via web conferencing; design and provide asynchronous instructional resources; provide timely assessment feedback and grading; collaborate with other teachers as an active member of the Professional Learning Community; support students and parents with learning strategies and daily assignments/projects; consult with other teachers and staff learning specialists to develop enrichment activities and modifications to assignments;
  
  provide targeted support through small group and individual instruction.
• Contribute to school culture and operations: participate in regional field trips and school events; create and maintain a virtual school community; collaborate with Special Populations teachers and School Counselors to ensure appropriate communications and progress; attend in-person and remote staff meetings; participate in state testing events (may require overnight travel); perform other duties as assigned.

• Highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School English/Language Arts in Indiana
• Strong technology skills (especially Google Suite)
• Interpersonal skills: oral and written communication, organization, timeliness, flexibility, collaboration, student-centered practices, problem-solving
• Ability to work remotely and travel within the state of Indiana as needed
• Ability to utilize a personal cell phone device for multi-factor authentication
