Addison Group is partnering with a large, well-established organization to identify a Learning Designer to support the creation of impactful onboarding and training programs. This client operates within a fast-paced, people-focused environment and is known for investing in leadership development and operational excellence.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Learning Designer to support the development of engaging, practical learning programs for leaders and operational teams. This is a project-based contract role focused on translating business priorities into scalable learning experiences that support performance, readiness, and growth.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating closely with stakeholders, navigating evolving requirements, and balancing strategic thinking with hands-on content development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business partners, subject matter experts, and leaders to design learning programs from concept through launch
  • Translate operational and leadership goals into clear learning objectives, curricula, and learner journeys
  • Design adult-learning-focused experiences that blend leadership development with real-world application
  • Develop instructional materials including facilitator guides, participant resources, digital content, and job aids
  • Apply learning science and instructional design best practices to create engaging, outcome-driven programs
  • Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders and learners to continuously refine learning solutions
  • Ensure learning content aligns with organizational standards, culture, and existing frameworks
  • Manage deliverables within defined project timelines and milestones
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning Design, Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Learning Designer or Instructional Designer with a portfolio of end-to-end learning programs
  • Strong background designing adult learning experiences that drive performance and engagement
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to simplify complex concepts
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, project-based environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Experience designing learning for front-line leaders or multi-location teams
  • Background in hospitality, retail, restaurant, or other operationally driven industries
  • Experience with onboarding, leadership readiness, or transition programs
  • Familiarity with distributed or franchise-style operating models
  • Experience piloting and iterating learning programs based on feedback
Additional Details:
  • Contract length:
    Approximately 6 months
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Start date:

    ASAP
  • Portfolio or work samples required as part of the submission process
    • Please include examples of onboarding, leadership development, or operational training programs
    • Briefly outline your role, audience, and outcomes for each sample
