This is an exciting opportunity for a bright, committed and innovative individual who has the ability to work with both mature and 16-19-year-old learners as part of a dynamic and successful team within a well-established Further Education college.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to teach GCSE and/or Functional skills maths at our North Street and South Bank campuses and to develop programmes of study to meet the needs of our learners who have not yet achieved a Level 2 qualification in maths. The successful candidate will be required to assess students in accordance with the requirements of the programme and contribute to systems of quality and advice and assist in the effective organisation of the department by the proper establishment of such syllabuses, schemes of learning and records as may be necessary from time to time.
The qualifications deemed essential for the post are:
* A Level 3 Qualification or higher in Maths or a relevant subject
* A level 4 teaching qualification or higher
* Level 2 GCSE English and Maths (GCSE Grades 9-4/A-C or a Level 2 Equivalent)
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is also essential for the post.
