OverviewStellar Virtual seeks a dedicated and certified Special Education Teacher to join our team. This remote position will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades K-12 within our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of special education best practices, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation, excellent communication and technology skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive online learning environment.
The teacher will collaborate closely with students, parents, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of students with disabilities.
- 100% Compliance with SPED/State Regulations
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Tennessee state regulations and best practices
- Conduct virtual IEP meetings and collaborate effectively with parents, students (as appropriate), general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators
- Ensure IEP goals and objectives are measurable, relevant, and aligned with the student's needs and the curriculum
- Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities in the virtual setting
- Provide direct and indirect specialized instruction to students with disabilities in individual and small group virtual settings
- Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, assistive technologies, and accommodations to support student learning and engagement
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide effective co‑teaching strategies and ensure accessibility of the general education curriculum
- Implement evidence-based practices and interventions to address students' academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs
- Provide ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of IEP goals and objectives
