This position is based at the campus and requires regular in‑person presence to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to our thriving academic environment. Remote work arrangements are limited in accordance with University policy.
Pay Range: $62,400 – $63,000
Staff Level: 00
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours: Standard University business hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (academic year), 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (summer). Hours may vary based on operational needs.

Job DescriptionThe Assistant Coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of conducting the field hockey program including, but not limited to, recruiting; daily team operations and practice planning; conditioning; game preparation with video analysis; scouting; and team and event management.
Education and Experience- Minimum bachelor’s degree and/or successful experience playing and/or coaching field hockey at the Division I level or equivalent club levels.
- 1–3 years of successful experience coaching field hockey at the Division I level or equivalent coaching/participation experience.
- Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Familiarity with and ability to learn to operate various forms of video equipment.
- Ability to multi‑task and meet requirements under pressure; willingness to work extended hours.
- Able to work efficiently with many different individuals and be responsive to a variety of requests.
- Must possess the ability to meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressures.
- High competency in field hockey skill and tactical instruction.
- Good organizational, communication and computer skills.
- Strong commitment and ability to work well with student‑athletes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of social media platforms.
- Assist with on‑field coaching and development of student‑athletes in training and competition, including individual technical development, small group training, tactical planning, scouting of opponents, video analysis, and coaching team dynamics and leadership.
- Assist with domestic and international recruiting.
- Provide Head Coach with feedback on evaluation of prospects.
- Assist in planning and recruiting efforts associated with official and unofficial visits.
- Assist in all administrative tasks associated with recruiting (domestic and international), NCAA compliance, admissions, financial aid, coordination of student housing, alumni/fundraising events, and team travel.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
