About Ignite Hubs

Ignite Hubs is an award-winning education charity for children and young people. We inspire the next generation of STEM trailblazers, creative thinkers, and digital whizzes. We target girls, those from disadvantaged backgrounds and ethnic minoritybackgrounds, as they are hugely underrepresented in the tech, STEM and creative industries. Our vision is a future where technology and innovation are shaped by diverse minds, truly reflecting the world we live in.

We currently teach coding, STEM, Maths and Creativity to over 200 students each week and have positively impacted more than 1,000 children and young people since we started. Our educational offering includes eleven weekly online classes and four weekly in-person classes delivered in libraries across Southwark, SE London, during term time.

Alongside our live programmes, we are currently developing an innovative online Learning & Careers platform which not only provides access to our courses but also helps young people connect their learning to real-world careers and job opportunities. The platform will feature organisations and spotlights on real professionals in tech, STEM and creative roles.

The programme will be delivered through:

  • Self-guided learning via our Online Learning Platform

  • Depending on instructor availability, classes next term (Summer Term) could run on another evening (not Fridays or weekends) at a later time, 6:00–7:00pm.
  • Our terms run for 8 weeks, with at least a 2-week break between terms (longer breaks over Easter and Summer)
  • Instructors are expected to arrive 5 minutes before class and stay 5–10 minutes after class for student questions or support.

There are additional hours available for curriculum development, creating learning resources and developing content for our Online Learning Platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create resources and activities that illustrate real-world applications of maths.
  • Develop lesson plans and materials to support students’ learning.
  • Monitor students’ progress and provide feedback and support as needed.
