Summary ofJob Duties
The University of Arkansas Grantham is looking for a REMOTE Faculty Manager in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, KS, IA, , IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, OH, OK, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI and WY. This position is responsible for conducting in-depth reviews of online classes, providing feedback/academic coaching and participates in faculty scheduling. The role ensures that the appropriate academic performance expectations are met. Manage multiple and concurrent departmental projects. A successful candidate will demonstrate a high attention to detail, effective communication skills, strong teamwork ethics, decisiveness and problem‑solving abilities. The position reports to Vice Chancellor, Academics, will work closely with other members of the academic team and perform other duties as assigned.
Key Job Responsibilities 50% – People Management- Supervise part‑time faculty
- Monitor and evaluate part‑time faculty daily classroom performance to ensure academic expectations are being met and notify faculty regarding their performance in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
- Regularly provide course check‑ups to various faculty
- Conduct bi‑weekly faculty performance meetings with the program chairs
- Utilize the appropriate academic dashboard systems and reports to monitor faculty engagement
- Teach one course a year
- Collaboratively participate in the hiring, training, and motivating of part‑time faculty
- Collaboratively complete part‑time faculty performance appraisals
- Implement mentoring activities for new and continuing part‑time faculty
- Continuously update skills and knowledge through required training
- Seek feedback and opportunities for growth to enhance expertise and effectiveness
- Education: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Work Experience: 5 years higher education online teaching experience
- 3 years of management experience
