Position SummaryWorking from your home office anywhere within the United States, the Advisor, Teaching Services supports full‑time online students by monitoring academic performance, fostering meaningful communication, and coordinating interventions with teachers and caretakers. Advisors play a critical role in ensuring a positive and successful online learning experience through proactive outreach, consistent documentation, and collaborative support.
Primary Responsibilities- Support students through ongoing synchronous and asynchronous communications.
- Monitor student participation, performance, pacing, and platform engagement.
- Provide proactive outreach using data to inform intervention strategies.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and content‑area teachers.
- Help students navigate Pearson Connexus and other Pearson technology tools.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all communications and interventions.
- Review student history and prior interactions before making contact.
- Initiate monthly contact with all assigned students, prioritizing those with greater needs.
- Use active listening and problem‑solving to provide individualized support.
- Foster a welcoming, supportive, and positive communication environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and Teaching Services colleagues using shared templates and best practices.
- Adhere to Teaching Services communication expectations and escalation protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.

Employees must maintain a professional home office setup that ensures privacy, security of records, and compliance with Pearson’s remote work policies.
Requirements- Valid and active teaching certificate
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in student support, advising, counseling, education, or related fields preferred.
- Strong communication skills (phone, virtual meetings, email, written documentation).
- Ability to analyze performance data to identify trends and student needs.
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work a full‑time shift that includes core business hours (9 AM–4 PM Eastern Time).
- Commitment to timely communication, documentation, and follow‑through.
- Comfort working with digital tools and learning management systems.
- Strong technology proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, virtual communication tools).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
- Commitment to supporting student achievement and providing exceptional service.
- Understanding how individualized learning needs (IEPs, 504s, EL supports) intersect with virtual learning environments.
This position may be semester‑based depending on enrollment needs. Continuation is subject to evaluation by school and departmental leadership.
