Reporting to the Executive Vice President and Provost, the Dean represents the college publicly, provides visionary leadership, and develops and implements college plans that support and enhance UCA’s mission and strategic plan. The Dean works with a faculty whose achievements are recognized nationally and internationally.

The position demands excellent “verbal and written” communication skills and proven ability to facilitate consensus, evidence of effective academic leadership and administrative experience at the department chair level or above.

• Knowledge of and experience with a variety of course delivery options (e.g., residency-based programs, fully online degree pathways)
• K-12 teaching or other professional experience within the K-12 landscape
• Experience with doctoral programs
• Knowledge of CAEP and other relevant accreditation and accountability standards
• Demonstrated commitment to recruiting and supporting a wide array of faculty, staff, and student body
• Understanding of the importance of technology in education
• Understanding of all education disciplines and current national trends and the ability to influence state education policy

An earned doctorate in education or appropriate field; a strong record of teaching, research, scholarship, and service to support a tenured appointment at the rank of associate or full professor.
